Duroc ham comes from a breed of pig that is very common in the sausages and hams consumed in Spain. It is a breed that arose thanks to the fusion of the Old Duroc and the Red Jersey in the 19th century in the United States. This product has a curing process of between 20-24 months, and is the only breed that is allowed to crossbreed with the Iberian breed.
